Case Study: Guggenheim Partners, Effective Communication

Like most organizations, Guggenheim Partners came to us as they were adapting adapting to the unexpected shift from in-person to remote work. Existing communication challenges had been highlighted, and new ones had been created. In partnership with their women’s network we planned a program focused on building effective communication skills specific to remote work and advocating for oneself and demonstrating value in negotiating.

The objectives for this session were:

  • Building skills to advocate for oneself and others through assertive communication techniques.

  • Applying professional communication strategies for more effective remote communication.

We kicked off the assertiveness practice with a reflection exercise focused on identifying participants’ greatest strengths and accomplishments, so that they could channel their confidence into assertive communication techniques. We also worked through several scenarios together that were focused on remote communication and negotiation/demonstrating value through assertiveness.
