How to Celebrate the Women in Your Life

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and while some women will be spoiled by their significant other, others of us will be treating ourselves. Pro-tip: wait a week and hit the stores when all the Valentine’s Day candy goes on clearance.

Regardless of whether or not you have special plans for February 14th, why not also take time this month to celebrate all the amazing women in your life. Maybe that’s your mom, sister, aunt, coworker, neighbor, or best friend. Whoever it is, the females in your life deserve to be celebrated, so here are a few ways to show them some love:

Say Thank You

These two simple words can go a long way. We tend to overlook the small things that the women in our lives do, so take some time to recognize her for all she does. If she lives nearby, stop over and spread these encouraging words in person. If she lives far away, send a note or make a phone call. I promise it’ll brighten her day.

Support Their Goals and Dreams

If you haven’t already, make sure you know and understand the goals and dreams that the women in your life have. To go a step further, make sure to ask about them regularly, and see what you can do to help motivate, support, and encourage her. You know what they say, empowered women empower women!

Plan a Day Together

Maybe this includes going to the movies, getting massages, going shopping, baking, crafting, or even laying in bed watching movies all day. Set aside an entire day to do all the fun things that you enjoy together.

GNO

Get all your gal pals together for a Girl’s Night Out. Put on your best outfit, blast your favorite music, and take on the town. Dance, sing, and be spontaneous. You’ll be glad to create even more memories.

Grab Coffee

Treat her to a cup of coffee and spend the morning or afternoon catching up, reminiscing, and cherishing the relationship you have right now. We tend to get caught up in the busyness of our lives, but it’s important to be present and enjoy the moment.

Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Some of you may be familiar with Galentine’s Day, a holiday celebrated on the popular TV show, Parks n’ Rec. Celebrated the day before Valentine’s, Leslie Knope and her female friends and colleagues all leave their significant others to spend the morning together eating brunch, sharing small gifts, and laughing about funny memories they all share. Don’t like breakfast food? Grab your favorite women and go out for lunch or dinner.

No matter how you choose to celebrate, it’s important to set aside time to let the women in your life know how much you appreciate them. Lift them up! Empower them! Encourage them! February is known as the month of love, but why not also make it the month of women celebrating women?
