Case Study: Midwest Communications

Early in 2019, two members of the sales and marketing team at Midwest Communications (specifically Midwest Radio) approached us to begin a partnership. Their goal was specific: to elevate and empower the women of their local Southern Indiana community. They knew that their listeners and sponsors consisted of many small business owners and growing professionals that wanted and needed professional and personal development, and they wanted to ensure they could find it.

Together we designed a series of four workshops to take place across 2019, with the final session wrapping up in October. Over the course of four sessions, we covered:

  • Building Confidence. We began with a deep dive into the idea of confidence– why it matters, and how it can impact a woman’s voice in the workplace.

  • Fostering Mentorship and Relationships. Then, we explored the importance of mentorship and sponsorship in achieving success. We defined what opportunities and gaps we could enhance and fill with mentorship, and designed our ideal personal boards of directors.

  • Communicating Effectively. During this session we focused on growing awareness of assertiveness and the skills necessary to embody it both in and out of the workplace. We developed and practiced communication strategies that can be used in various workplace situations.

  • Developing Female Leaders. We ended the (amazing) year with a plan– together, the participants created a personal roadmap that aligns individual values and vision to professional goals.

We have loved working with the women of the Evansville area and can’t wait to continue our partnership in 2020.
