#BreakTheBias: Women’s History Month Recap

As Women’s History Month and the celebration of International Women’s Day comes to a close, we want to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the organizations we had the privilege of working with during such a pivotal month for so many companies to drive gender equity action forward.

With this year’s International Women’s Day theme of #BreakTheBias, individuals were called to take action for collective progress. At Gild Collective, we worked with our clients to approach this theme in different ways—providing tools for interrupting bias in big ways within workplaces and small ways within our own interactions.

Case Study: DriveWealth Communicating Confidently and Assertively

DriveWealth has been in a period of hypergrowth in the past year, adding over one hundred new employees to the organization. In March of 2021, a new group was started to support women in the organization through networking and development opportunities. Women at DriveWealth meets monthly with varying topics and activities during the virtual sessions. Since the group has begun, there has been a desire to provide structured professional development opportunities to the group participants. Based on participant feedback, the planning team chose to offer Gild Collective’s Communicating Confidently and Assertively workshop.

Case Study: MillerCoors Women in Beer

We had so much fun with the Great Lakes Region chapter of Women in Beer at MillerCoors during their two-day annual meeting! After surveying the group on their interest in various topics, we landed the topic of Mapping Career Strategy.

After the session, one participant shared, “I thought it was a great way to sit down and map out what our individual priorities are including work and personal life.”

We know this group is serving as accountability partners for one another as they head into a busy time of year and look forward to hearing how everyone has achieved their objectives!

Case Study: Women in Bio Webinar

This month we partnered with Women in Bio to deliver a webinar to its members on Uncovering Unconscious Bias. Women in Bio is an “organization of professional women from all career walks in the field of life sciences. We are all volunteers and we all share the goal of enabling and empowering women to reach the highest levels of leadership, and  -- more importantly -- to fulfill their own career aspirations.”

Case Study: Tech Company Women's Program

In December 2018, Gild Collective facilitated a 2-day program for a cohort of under-represented minority (URM) women at Intel. The participants came from a variety of departments and positions within the organization and many had never met previously. Beyond the action-oriented programming during the session, we organized opportunities for connection and network building to create support networks within the organization.

Women's Energy Network

On Thursday, the group created a collaborative vision board, outlining the vision and goals for the WEN chapter in the new year. On Friday, each board member had the opportunity to focus on their own personal vision and goals for 2018, with the creation of a personalized strategy map and a morse code necklace.
