During the first workshop session, Adria shared a powerful poem—The Invitation, by Oriah.

This Summer, we returned to a past client—Women in Bio—an amazing organization of professionals committed to promoting careers, leadership, and entrepreneurship of all women in the life sciences. Together with collaborative partners, we delivered a 3-part Navigating Burnout + Building Support Series.

In the first two sessions focused on Navigating Burnout, we partnered with Adria Whitlow. Adria is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR Therapist. Adria is trained in Trauma Informed care strategies as well as, Trauma Informed Yoga. Adria is the owner and CEO of Evolving Lives LLC, founder of beautifulYOU young women's program for girls ages 11-18. Intertwined with tools for building boundaries to address burnout, Adria led mindfulness breaks throughout the session to complete the stress cycle in the moment.

In the final session of the series on Building Support Networks, we were joined by Leah Shaw of SHAWsome Leadership Consulting. With a background in Higher Education Administration, Leah has worked at several universities, most recently finding herself in a new position at Kent State University. In this session, Gild Collective provided tools for building support networks and Leah complemented with a framework for intentional action and forward momentum.
